A Zebra died and went to heaven. There, at the Pearly Gates, he was met by St. Peter.
St. Peter greeted the Zebra and welcomed him into heaven. Before the Zebra entered through the gates, he stopped and asked St. Peter, "am I white with black stripes or black with white stripes?"
St. Peter replied, "Good question. Unfortunately, I do not know the answer to your question. That is a question you should asked God, your maker."
So the Zebra entered through the Gates of Heaven and approached God asking, "God, am I white with black stripes, or black with white stripes?"
To which God replied, "You are who you are."
The Zebra was confused by the answer, but left to enjoy his new home in heaven. While walking around in heaven and pondering the answer which God gave him, the Zebra bumped into St. Peter.
St. Peter asks, "Well, did you ask God your question? Did you find out if you were white with black stripes or black with white stripes?"
The Zebra answered, "He didn't really give me an answer. He just replied - 'You are who you are.' - So I guess I'm supposed to not know."
St. Peter exclaimed, "No, no no! You got your answer! You're white with black stripes! Because if you were black with white stripes, God would have said - 'You is what you is.'-"
